AboutInsurance & You

A National Insurance Literacy and Public Education Campaign

Insurance & You is Saint Lucia’s national insurance literacy and public education campaign, co-founded and jointly governed by the Insurance Council of Saint Lucia (ICSL) and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA).

The campaign was established to improve public understanding of insurance, strengthen financial resilience, and support informed decision-making among individuals, families and businesses throughout Saint Lucia.

Through a coordinated programme of public education, stakeholder collaboration, community outreach, media engagement and digital resources, Insurance & You seeks to make insurance knowledge more accessible, relevant and practical for everyday life.

Insurance is often misunderstood until it is needed most. The campaign therefore promotes greater awareness of how insurance, risk management and financial preparedness contribute to personal security, business continuity and national resilience.

At its core, the campaign is guided by a simple principle:

An informed citizen is better equipped to protect what matters most.

  • Vision

A Saint Lucia where every individual, family and business understands the role of insurance in building financial security, resilience and long-term wellbeing.

  • Mission

To improve insurance literacy through trusted education, stakeholder collaboration, public engagement and accessible resources that empower informed decision-making.

Campaign theme

Using Insurance to Build Economic Resilience

Insurance is more than a financial product.

It is a financial resilience tool that helps individuals, families and businesses prepare for uncertainty, recover from unexpected events and protect long-term financial wellbeing.

By improving public understanding of insurance and risk management, Insurance & You contributes to stronger households, stronger businesses and a more resilient Saint Lucia.

Strategic objectives

The method

Learn, then plan, then protect

Three steps, in that order. Every week of the programme and every resource belongs to one of them.

    Understand how insurance works

Plain-English sessions and guides on the words, the products and your rights, so you can ask the right questions.

    Programme weeks 1, 2, 3, 10, 13

  2. Plan

Decide what your household or business needs

Tools to think through your risks, what you already have and where the gaps are, at your own pace.

    Programme weeks 4, 5, 8, 11

  3. Protect

    Act before you need to

Practical steps for the home, the road, your health and your income, and what to do when a claim happens.

    Programme weeks 6, 7, 9, 12
