Accessibility
Built for everyone
This site is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. If anything is hard to use, tell us and we will fix it.
1. Our commitment
Insurance & You 2026 is for everyone in Saint Lucia, including people who use screen readers, magnification, keyboard-only navigation, or who prefer less motion. The website is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and the campaign's events and materials follow the same principle.
2. What we have done
- Text and background colours meet at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio. Colour is never the only way information is shown; status labels always include an icon and words.
- Body text is 17 pixels on a phone and scales with your browser settings. Headings are structured in order and every page has one main heading.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone: a visible gold focus outline, a skip-to-content link, and no keyboard traps. Menus and forms use standard, labelled controls.
- Images carry text alternatives. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Animation is light and respects the operating system's reduce-motion setting, in which case content simply appears.
- Pages are usable at 320 pixels wide and at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Forms have visible labels, tell you what is required before you submit, and report problems next to the field.
3. Events and printed materials
- Every event page states step-free access and how to request accommodation. Reserved seating, large-print materials and other arrangements are available on request when you register.
- Guides are provided as tagged PDFs where possible, and we will supply large print, plain text or another format on request.
- Recordings of sessions will carry captions where we can provide them.
4. Known issues
We will list anything we know is not yet right here, with what we are doing about it. Nothing is listed at the moment. Photography and some documents are still to be added and will be checked when they arrive.
5. Tell us
If something does not work for you, email hello@insuranceandyou.org or use the contact form and choose “Accessibility”. Tell us the page, what happened and, if you can, the browser or assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within five working days.
6. How this statement is checked
Pages are tested with automated tools and by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader before they are published, and again when they change. This statement is reviewed at each campaign milestone.
