The Insurance Council of Saint Lucia (ICSL) is the representative association of the insurance industry in Saint Lucia. Its origins date to 1975, when industry stakeholders united to engage Government on proposed amendments to the Insurance Act. This initiative led to the formation of the Insurance Advisory Council, whose first constitution was adopted in June 1976, later evolving into the Insurance Council of Saint Lucia. The Council brings together stakeholders engaged in the transaction of insurance business in Saint Lucia and seeks to advance the insurance industry on a sound basis, promote high standards of professional ethics, improve public understanding of insurance, and serve as a medium of consultation with Government and other industry bodies.
